Relaxation Massage

Need to de-stress and unwind?

A relaxation massage is the perfect way to relieve tired muscles and calm the body and mind.

This smooth-flowing treatment with a light to medium pressure will assist in releasing stress and settling the nervous system.

This technique uses long, smooth strokes, kneading and circular movements on the top layer of muscles to help ease tension and improve circulation. With a lighter pressure than a deep tissue massage, the focus is on providing a calming and soothing experience leaving you feeling rejuvenated.

Deep Tissue Massage

Feeling tightness, tension or pain in your muscles?

Deep tissue massage is a combination of relaxation massage techniques coupled with a more detailed approach to address specific body areas. It's recommended for those with chronic pain, injuries, restricted range of motion, deep knots or alignment issues.

This therapeutic massage technique works to relax the muscle tissue and surface anatomy in order to reach and release the inner fascia.

A deep tissue massage should never hurt. The ability to truly reach the inner fascia and deeper muscles comes from the body’s ability to surrender (stop its holding), let go of tension, increase blood flow and expand its surface muscle mass. The focus is on encouraging your muscles to let go, and provides a great release of tension, and also helps with the mind and soul.

Sports Massage

Engage in regular physical activity?

Sports Massage includes components of Relaxation Massage and Deep Tissue Massage with additional massage techniques for treating muscles in relation to their adaptive function.

The term sports is not limited to the sport itself but is a way of treating athletes, fitness enthusiasts, dancers, and others who are regularly physically active. It helps improve circulation, relieve tension, reduce pain, and enhance overall performance.

Sports massage techniques can help to increase the range of motion, reduce muscle soreness, and prevent injuries by addressing imbalances and tension in the body.

Remedial Massage

Need to alleviate pain and improve mobility?

Remedial Massage is the only massage service covered by Health Funds. It is designed for anyone experiencing pain or discomfort related to a musculoskeletal condition or injury. This may include individuals with chronic pain, acute injuries, postural imbalances, or conditions such as sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, or arthritis.

As a trained remedial massage therapist, I will identify the underlying causes of a condition through history taking and comprehensive assessment. Based on this assessment, I will develop a treatment plan that may include a combination of identifying and treating specific trigger points or areas of tension, myofascial release, providing exercises or stretches to improve mobility and posture, and offering advice on lifestyle modifications to support the healing process.

Remedial massage can be a valuable service for anyone looking to improve their musculoskeletal health, reduce pain and discomfort, and enhance their overall well-being.
