10 Week Class Courses   The majority of our group classes run as ten week courses during the NSW school terms. Our group classes proceed subject to course minimum booking numbers of five .

Choosing The Right Class For You

We have four different group classes; Special Condition, Beginner, General & Dynamic. Each style has a range of class options available to satisfy various exercise needs and body types. To determine what classes are the best fit for you, scroll down the page to read through the categories or click below on the group class that you think will best suit you; then select the classes within that section which most appeal to your interests and needs. 

Special Condition Classes

These are for students with mild conditions, rehabilitation, various health concerns or pre and post natal.

Beginner Classes

These are for students who are new to practice, have done classes here and there or who haven’t practiced in a while.

General Classes

These are your core practice, for students who have experience in the practice and solid understanding of the foundations.

Dynamic Classes

These are for experienced students with sound bodies/injury free, who have been practicing for a while.

Special Conditions

These classes are for students with mild conditions, rehabilitation & various health concerns, they offer individual attention in a small group setting. An initial private consultation is compulsory prior to joining and in some cases continued private sessions may be advised. Within a group setting you will receive your own individual postures/exercises and modifications as well as some group practices. Our goal is to get you ready/prepare you to join our general group classes.

These classes run over 4 -10 weeks. No casual visits; with the exception of Buff Bones® and Chair classes.

Buff Bones®/Back care

Class size: 5-12 students

Buff Bones® is a medically-endorsed workout that combines Pilates, functional movement, strength training, and therapeutic exercise with bone-strengthening and balance techniques to optimise the health and safety of your bones.
The workout follows a research-supported design of specifically sequenced exercises, making it an entire system of bone and joint health, rather than just a set of exercises. Toning your arms, hips, back and abs, the Buff Bones® system also improves posture, is adaptable to varying levels, and is even safe for those with Osteoporosis, Osteopenia and some spinal conditions(to be determined).
Developed in the United States by Rebekah Rotstein, a recognised expert in Pilates and exercise for Osteoporosis, this dynamic one-hour class is enjoyable and challenging for people of all ages and levels.

Pre & Post Natal conditioning

Class size:4-8 students

Pregnancy and beyond Pilates and Yoga classes are suitable for women through all stages of their pregnancy, from pre-natal through to post-natal. It is a safe and effective exercise for most pregnant women and also following the birth of your child to rebalance and strengthen. Bring your non crawling new baby along and regain your stability while giving back to yourself.

 

CHAIR PILATES & YOGA

This Class incurs a special rate:

Seniors - $10 Casuals - $15

This class puts focus on building muscular strength and endurance without stress on joints, back strength and maintaining good posture. The aim is to give more ease in your everyday life activities such as walking, stair climbing, gardening and sports. Exercises are done in a chair and some standing to improve your balance. Focus is on breathing, spinal alignment, shoulder mobility and stability, arm strength, balance, core strength. You will achieve greater body awareness and confidence.

Yoga Therapy

Class size: 4-8 students

One initial private consultation prior is compulsory and there is also an option to purchase a discounted block of 3 privates to compliment your group class training.

This class will offer modified Yoga Therapy postures and other therapeutic movement which is specifically designed for you as an individual, some exercises will be practiced as a group and then you will have your own set program to follow afterwards.

Modified Reformer

*This Pilates Reformer class program has been modified for clients with mild conditions.

By adding resistance from Pilates apparatus to Pilates exercises, these incredibly versatile Reformers enable varying degrees of intensity across a range of movements.

Our reformer classes are designed by Suzanne McCarty a principal trainer of the Pilates Alliance Australasia and a second generation Certified Pilates Instructor.

The small class sizes enables us to dedicate time and energy into helping you achieve your individual goals and physical needs.

hara_Studio_Beginners_Classes

Beginner

Our beginners classes are ideal for those who are new to the practice, have done classes here and there or who haven’t practiced in a while. We advise you take one of our beginners courses or attend a general styled class to go through foundations and deepen your knowledge. This will enable you to attend a more dynamic class with confidence and ease.

If you have an injury, a health concern or are pregnant we highly recommend that you take either an initial consultation prior to joining a course. We also offer studio sessions, Yoga Therapy and Specialty classes at our studio. Please see our special condition classes and contact us for more details.

Pilates Beginner

Class size: 5-12 students

This class covers the principles of Pilates to build a deep understanding of the practice so you are confident to walk into any Pilates class. You will be guided to correctly perform the exercises so that you get the most out of every workout. The course will give you a thorough foundation of the Pilates method. Students leave more confident with a greater awareness and connection to their core and whole body. After this course we welcome you to join our general Hara Pilates MAT classes.

Yoga Beginner

Class size: 5-12 students

This course will explore yoga postures; taking time to learn functional alignment and mindful transitions in order to practice safely and confidently in your body, traditional breathing practices, along with meditation and relaxation.

You will be introduced to some of Hatha Yoga core philosophical and traditional teachings and learn how to integrate yoga into your daily life.

Develop a rich foundation for your yoga practice by taking time to learn the yoga essentials.

GYROKINESIS® exercise Beginner

Class size: 5-12

These courses are suitable for those new to GYROKINESIS®, we will go through foundations so that you can move into a flowing class with ease and confidence. This class is suitable for all levels. GYROKINESIS® exercise which works the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement. It systematically and gently works all joints and muscles of the body. Postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected. The use of rhythmic breathing, undulating, spiraling and 3 dimensional movement conditions the body, stimulates its internal organs and opens energy pathways. Fluidity and ease is the key. GYROKINESIS® invigorates and re-educates the body to move with fluidity, relaxation and power.

Pilates Reformer (Quad) Beginner

Class size: 4 students

* This class is ideal for beginners to The Pilates Reformer classes.

By adding resistance on Pilates Apparatus to Pilates exercises, these incredibly versatile Pilates Reformers enable varying degrees of intensity across a range of movements.

Our reformer classes are designed by Suzanne McCarty a principal trainer of the Pilates Alliance Australasia-PAA and a second generation Certified Pilates Instructor.

The small class sizes enables us to dedicate time and energy into helping you achieve your individual goals and physical needs.

Barre Beginner

Class size: 5-12 students

*This class course is suitable for beginners to Barre classes.

Hara Barre is developed by Suzanne McCarty, an ex professional Ballet dancer. Its an invigorating movement class that is inspired by dance, it incorporates 3 dimensional movement techniques from Dance, developmental movement patterns, yoga & pilates.

During this class you will experience flowing, undulating movement which requires full body strength, flexibility and control. The side effect is that you will get a cardiovascular workout and toned legs and butt and a huge smile on your face.

Buff Bones®Beginner

Class size: 5-12 students

*This class course is suitable for beginners to Pilates who have bone density issues and some minor back care requirements.

Buff Bones® is a medically-endorsed workout that combines Pilates, functional movement, strength training, and therapeutic exercise with bone-strengthening and balance techniques to optimise the health and safety of your bones.
The workout follows a research-supported design of specifically sequenced exercises, making it an entire system of bone and joint health, rather than just a set of exercises. Hara_Studio_General_Classes

General

These classes are your core practice, for students who have experience in the practice and a solid understanding of the foundations. The classes run over a 10 week term and progress weekly to build on your technique, strength and postures. If you have no prior experience we recommend you join a 5 week beginners class course or a 101 workshop to learn the foundations and get the most out of these general classes.

Run over a 10 week term. Drop ins welcome if you  have an experienced level of practice.

Pilates Mat general/Foundations

Class size 5-12 persons.

Enjoy a series of Pilates MAT exercises to build up strength and technique needed to participate and prepare your body for the HARA Pilates "Classical MAT".
This class includes deep core fundamentals and stability exercises, to bring balance and strength to the inner body. We will then go on to concentrate on building core strength, arm strength, spinal mobility and control.

Pilates Reformer Level #2 (Quad)

*This is a general level Pilates Reformer class

By adding resistance from Pilates apparatus to Pilates exercises, these incredibly versatile Reformers enable varying degrees of intensity across a range of movements.

Our reformer classes are designed by Suzanne McCarty a principal trainer of the Pilates Alliance Australasia and a second generation Certified Pilates Instructor.

Hatha Yoga

Class size 5-12 persons.

A traditional Hatha Yoga class that incorporates yoga postures (asana) and yoga breathing exercises (pranayama).
The Yoga postures are combined with mindfulness techniques & breath awareness in an accessible and harmonising way.
This class will invite you to improve your alignment, while building strength, increasing flexibility and aims to nourish all of the systems of the inner body.
The class ends with a guided relaxation.

Buff Bones®

Dynamic Class at Hara Studio Coffs Harbour

Dynamic

These classes are for experienced students with sound bodies/injury free who’ve been practicing for a while. They include flowing movement sequences, sometimes rigorous and require full range of motion and a full body workout.

Courses run over 10 week term. Drop-ins welcome if you have an experienced level practice.

Slow Flow & Hot Power Flow Yoga

Class size 5-12 persons

This is a Vinyasa style Yoga class based on Hatha Yoga and adds a mindful approach to flowing Yoga.

Flow Yoga classes are designed to allow you to improve your alignment, while building strength, increasing flexibility and improving stamina. Longer holds and slow transitions offer the opportunity to increase your understanding of the body in each pose and more time spent working on each pose will allow you to deepen and improve your personal practice.

The class includes Sun Salutations, standing, prone, supine, arm strengthening and seated postures then ends with a guided relaxation.

At Hara we use Far Infrared Heaters.

The HARA YOGA flow sequence is practised in a room warmed to the comfortable temperature of a late spring day @28 degrees in order to support the natural building of warmth within the physical body. However we don't believe that practicing in a heated room during summer and hot days is healthy nor balancing so we only offer heated rooms on cooler days/months of the year.

GYROKINESIS® exercise (“Yoga in motion”)

Class size 5-12 persons

This class is suitable for all levels. GYROKINESIS® exercise which works the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement. It systematically and gently works all joints and muscles of the body. Postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected. The use of rhythmic breathing, undulating, spiraling and 3 dimensional movement conditions the body, stimulates its internal organs and opens energy pathways. Fluidity and ease is the key. Gyrokinesis® invigorates and re-educates the body to move with fluidity, relaxation and power.

 

Pilates Reformer Level #3 (Quad)

*This is an Intermediate Level Classical Pilates Reformer. Pilates Reformer experience and a sound body is essential.

By adding resistance from Pilates apparatus to Pilates exercises, these incredibly versatile Reformers enable varying degrees of intensity across a range of movements.

Our reformer classes are designed by Suzanne McCarty a principal trainer of the Pilates Alliance Australasia and a second generation Certified Pilates Instructor.

Classical Pilates MAT

Class size 5-12 persons

This is 50 minutes of flowing power taught how Joseph Pilates intended it. We follow the original Classical Pilates MAT exercises. Just you, your body and sometimes the magic circle and the arm weight series to heat it up! This is a challenging MAT class providing rigorous body conditioning and a cardiovascular workout.

 

Hara BARRE

Class size: 5-12 students

CANCELLATION POLICY:

A missed appointment affects 3 people. You, the instructor and the person wanting the time set aside for you. For the livelihoods of our instructors a strict class cancellation policy must be enforced.

  • 48 hour cancellation for studio private, duo/trio sessions.

  • 24 hour cancellation for pre-booked group classes.

  • If you are a NO SHOW to your booked class or studio session without cancelling prior you will be charged in full.
